When I was about 14 years old the man across the street bought one of the first Stingrays in Fort Smith. It was silver and I thought it was the coolest car I have ever seen. Ever since then I wanted a Corvette. The first Corvette we bought was a dark green, 1974 model T-top and driving it was a lot of fun. Once kids came along it became very apparent that the Vet wasn’t kid friendly so I sold it.
I have always been fascinated by Corvettes and last year I started looking around for another one. Shirley and I saw the new Stingray for the first time at Smith Chevrolet and it was out of this world beautiful. $77,000 was a little out of my price range so we kept on looking.
One morning while taking my Dad to breakfast at Egg & I, I saw a red Vet in their parking lot with a “For Sale” sign in the window. I wrote down the phone number and later call about the car. It is a red 2004 model with under 10,000 miles. After meeting with the owner and driving the car we made the decision to go ahead and buy it. As with most Vet owners it spends most of the time in the garage but it sure is fun to take it out on nice days for a drive.
